Avamar Extended Retention not recycle volumes after the export backups are expired

Hi,

My AER (versión 7.0.1) not recycle the volumes. When all exported backups are expired in a volumen, this volumen is not marked recyclable.

Can AER recycle the volumes automaticaly? or  Do I need to relabel the volumes manualy?

Thanks

Hi

Had the same problem. In our case the problem was that the default pool was disabled, and the tape in the default
pool was unused.

If I understood it correct, tapes are only free to recycle after a successful backup of indexes.

- run nsradmin,

- type visual

- select “nsr pool”

Enabled if not already enabled

Wait for the scheduler to run the job

run nsrjb to verify that the tapes are recyclable

Hi Kdc,

I enabled the “nsr pool” and labeled one volumen to pool default.

The “nsr pool” has marked the “Store index entries” to yes.

I will wait to the next schedule to run the job.

I will update with the result.

Thank you very much for your help

Regards
