You are correct, my mistake.
This is an advanced dataset option for the Avamar VMware Image plug-in. In the edit dataset dialog, you need to select the plug-in from the dropdown and check the "Show Advanced Options" checkbox.
The options for the plugin are documented starting on page 124 of the guide:

The options you're after are on page 125. You will need to provide appropriate credentials and specify the full path to the script(s).

Are you trying to invoke a script on the VM? This would have to be done through VMware Tools:

These scripts would be invoked whenever a quiesced snapshot is requested.

Thanks but I thought Avamar 7.4 could run a custom script. By default Avamar will run a quiesce on VMs with tools installed.

I am trying to do this first time . Can you provide some details on how to execute this script . Do I have to use "root" as the user to execute this ? if not root where do I specify the user ? can it be specified in the avamar dataset under options ?
