Avamar Vmware Windows Cluster backup Issue
We use Avamar 7.5.1 to do image level backups on all our VMware virtual machines. We set up a new 4 node Windows 2012 cluster with SQL2016 AAG across our 2 Vmware farms for mission critical databases. When we do Vmware image level backups of the primary server, at the end of the backup it loses connectivity and the secondary server takes over the databases. Later in schedule when we back up the secondary server (now primary) again it loses connectivity at the end of the backup and again the databases flip back to the original primary server. Seems to happen at the end of the backup when snapshot is being released. We have set [avvcbimage]quiesce_fs=false within the Avamar dataset. But we are still getting this issue of primary flipping over to secondary server at the end of the backup window? Any thoughts on how we can stop this during image level backups?

You'll want to create an SR with EMC. I had to work with Support to address this issue and it took several iterations to get it correct.
Let us know if it helps!
