Avamar virtual edition with Data Domain Disaster Recovery

i lost the AVE vm now i have to create a new one, all the backups and checkpoints recides on the DD system, is posible to rollback to a old CP stored on the DD using this new AVE deployed?

Checkpoint backups send the Avamar metadata to Data Domain storage and it can be recovered if necessary. If you configured checkpoint backups to Data Domain, professional services can perform a checkpoint restore and rollback to recover the AVE.

The procedure for configuring checkpoint backup can be found in the Avamar / Data Domain integration guide (see pg. 33):

The link above is for Avamar 7.3 but the procedure is similar for other versions.

If checkpoint backup was not configured and the Avamar system does not have a replication partner, the metadata for the backups is lost.
