Backups did no run last night...
During the setup for VMDK level backups the instructions had us do:
dpnctl stop
some work to get the rui.crt imported
dpnctl start
All was well, or so we thought. Non of the backups ran last night, replication did, and maintenance appears to have run this AM.
dpnctl status shows:
Identity added: /home/dpn/.ssh/dpnid (/home/dpn/.ssh/dpnid)
dpnctl: INFO: gsan status: ready
dpnctl: INFO: MCS status: up.
dpnctl: INFO: EMS status: up.
dpnctl: INFO: Backup scheduler status: down.
dpnctl: INFO: dtlt status: up.
dpnctl: INFO: Maintenance windows scheduler status: enabled.
dpnctl: INFO: Maintenance cron jobs status: enabled.
dpnctl: INFO: Unattended startup status: disabled.
What should I do to get backups going again?
Thanks,
CK

Hello CK,

There is not need to stop Avamar server to add vCenter's certificate to the MCS keystore.

The easiest way is to start Avamar MCS ---> Server ---> Server Monitor tab ---> then to Resume backups / restores ...
or you could start it from command line:
# dpnctl start sched
try with this one first and let us know results ...

Thanks. Does anyone know why the backup scheduler didn't start after the system received the dpnctl start ?

perhaps run "dpnctl start all" instead.
