Can't satisfy benchmark for AVE 4.1.2 edition 2TB
I can't to satisfy the benchmark of Avamar Virtual Edition 4.1.2 - 2TB with my Clariion cx3-10.
I tested several configuration of RAID GROUP,LUN, METALUN, RAID5, RAID10... without success...
my bests perf with 2 x R5 4+1 with 6 MetaLUN to store the 12 vmdk.
... TOTAL WRITE THROUGHPUT : ~80 MB / Second
... TOTAL READ THROUGHPUT : ~130 MB / Second
What can i do with :
CLARIION CX3-10
10 x Disk SATAII 1 TB (dedicated for AVE)
1 x Dell R710 - card dual port FC - 24 GB RAM - ESX4.0
What is the good configuration for AVAMAR VIRTUAL EDITION 2TB ?

Did you find a resolution to the benchmark problem you had? I am having similar issue with AVE5Sp3. I cannot meet write throughput benchmark. Reads and seek tests are fine.

Hi,
Sorry but support for Clariion and Avamar could not help me !
But, because my need volume have increased between time, I switched to a single physical node.
The spec asked for the 2TB edition are very high. I ask me if they are possible with a Clariion and this Virtual Appliance !
If you have a solution, i'm interrested !

Hi Thanks for the reply. I have logged a case with support and so far I have been suggested to increase the spindle count. I will have check with client if they have spare spindles for testing and will test it if they do and see if it improves the write throughput. Will let you know.
