Data Protection Central Active Directory intergration

We've configured the LDAP (AD) integration in DPC and it reports 'success' and '100%' in the Audit log but when we attempt to log in with an AD account it reloads the page a few times and then returns to the login screen of the DPC GUI with no error shown.

We've also found that if we deliberatly get the password wrong it does error with "Invalid username and/or password. Please try again."

Anybody have any ideas please?
