Dataset Advanced Statistics
Best Practices guide suggestions enabling Report Advanced Statistics option for the client Dataset.
What does this do, and where will I see this Advanced Statistics?
Is there any reason not to turn this on? I assume so, since it is not on by default.

They are written to the backup log for each client that uses that dataset. It is towards the end, and breaks down the chunk sizes it found and how much of that was new.
