Performing Backups with Advanced Retention
Hello All,
Fairly new to the Avamar world and I am loving it. Here is my question though. Currently we use basic retention and expire backups after 30 days. I want to add some advanced retention to take in account for Monthly and Yearly retention requirements.
So my question is this. Using the Advanced Retention I can specifiy how long to keep those backups. But how do I indicate which Day of the scheduled calender is a monthly and a yearly and a weekly?
Does it use the last day of the month and year? So far I can't seem to find how it determines that. Only the initial seed has a DMWY tag assigned which is by default.

You cannot change the retention tag for weekly, monthly or yearly.
A week starts on Sunday, after midnight 00:00:01 GMT. A month starts after midnight on the first day of the month, GMT.
And, a year starts after midnight on January 1, GMT.
If you want them run on your specific date, you will have to create a schedule and rentention policy to meet your needs.
