Swapping a 10Gb base T io module with an optical fiber module
Hello all,
We have a single node gen4t avamar server integrated with a data domain in production. In SLIC bay 0 we have an 10 base T module. Can this be replaced with an optical fiber module?.

I don't know if it can be swapped for an optical module. But why do you want to do that? The Avamar is attached to a DataDomain, so all backups probably go straight from the clients to the DD.

I would presume it would be for a change of the networking environment. Why doesn't really matter.
The questions is can it be done. The answer is yes, it can be done.

Hello Raghav,
Yes, the networking slic can be changed from the copper to the fibre if that is what you would like to do.
Please contact your sales team and request they order the new slic and schedule to have it installed.
Please note that this process will require that the GSAN be taken offline during the exchange.
