CX4-120 Fault Message

Hi,

I have a CX4-120 running Flare 04.30.000.5.509 that on Saturday nights gets the following faults:

Event Code:0x2580

Description:Storage Array Faulted Bus 0 Enclosure 0 : Faulted

Event Code:0x740a

Description:Disk Array Enclosure (Bus 0 Enclosure 0) is faulted. Servers may have lost access to disk drives in this enclosure. See alerts for details.

It happens on SPA and then a few moments later SPB.  Is there an online tool to look these event codes up or has anyone else seen this?

Thanks,

Thom

Hi,

You can simply ignore these alerts as it is not an issue. On a scheduled time, SPS will get discharge and charge again.  If required, you will be able to set the SPS battery test time using navicil command.

"setspstime" is the command using to set the SPS battery test time

Syntax:

setspstime [-d day-num] [-h hour-num] [-m minute-num] [-nolocal]

Please refer the navicli command reference guide for more clarification.

Hi,

I believe there will be one more alert which is more specific to the faulty component (like Bus 0 Enclosure 0  Disk xx is faulted). Please check the alerts in the dashboard or go to the hardware options and see any hardware component is failed. Also please raise an SR with EMC and upload the SP Collect for analyzing. If they found any hardware failures on the array, the SR will dispatch to field for replacing the part if the box is under valid support.

Please note that if you are getting the same alerts on every Saturdays, it may be indicating the SPS test as well. Every week there will be a scheduled SPS test on EMC boxes.

Thanks $ree.  The alerts are happening every Saturday and there is an SPS test going on, it says:

Event Code:0x7f7

Description:AC Power to power supply B0 has been interrupted and SPS testing is in progress.

And then it alerts later on that power has been restored.  Is there a way to look at the schedule for the SPS tests?
