CX4-120 fault

Hi All,

We have a CX4-120 which has recently been moved, we are now getting the following summary on the config log.

The cabling looks ok to me, and am having trouble isolating the issue.

SP A is currently unmanaged,

Enclosure SPE SP's cables are incorrect,

Enclosure SPE Power A1 is Faulted,

Enclosure SPE Power A0 is Faulted

This was resolved by Rebooting the SPE enclosure, it did throw up other issues. The Iscsi card failed and the SPA also needed replacing, not too sure these were the cause though of the original issue.

Just seem the equipment was in a poor state, all good now though.

Got a console cable ? Not pretty, but you might be able to determine what's going on.

Also SPA is not accessable, it's as though the SP, SPS nad PSU's are all faulty.

Yes, the Masnagement IP and DAE cables have been re-seated.

The SPSA has a green light, all cables look good, SPS has been power cycled.

tried reseating the cables?

If the cables have been changed since the array was powered on, the alerts may be stuck. Maybe restart the management server on each SP.

http://arrayspa/setup  wait a few minutes the do the same for spb

I have null modem and normal modem cables, and have tried at 18.2,n,8,1 with no flow control, but nothing gives with either. Are the EMC ports special cables.

looks like your SPA is not booting up. If all cables are right you must check other hardware.

Normally the iSCSI cards due to age and etc (even if not in use) fails after reboot or power down. I've got lots lately.

So check the iSCSI card, if you have a orange light on it, that's your problem and you need to replace it.

You can see that if you have a serial connection in the back of the storage and reseat your SPA.
