CX4-480, Windows 2008 Enterprise

We are running a Windows 2008 Enterprise cluster and on one node we have a disk attached from our clariion. It is not shared with the other node, not a cluster resouce. Occasionally when rebooting this node, the disk will come up offline. In reviewing the event log, I don't see any errors, and it seems to see the disk ok.

From the research I've done, the best thing I can come up with is that it is staying in offline mode due to the new 'SAN Policy' feature set in the diskpart utility. The policy is set to offline, but from what I understand it should only keep new disks in offline mode and this is not a new disk.

Do you think this issue could be due to the SAN Policy setting?

Thanks

we had the same issue with disks presented from MSA P2000 array, changing the policy fixed it for us.

Make sure “Automount” is enabled in Diskpart for the disk that has the issue.

DISKPART> automount (for status)

DISKPART> automount enable
