CX700 and 300GB drives
I have been told that the new 300GB 15K disks are not supported with the CX700. Does anyone have anything knowledge of this?
Thanks

You can always check the latest CX-Series Disk and FLARE OE Matrix to find out which drives are compatible with which storage systems and the required minimum FLARE for each type of drive.
You can usually find the latest version in the General Reference section for any of the Cx documentation pages.
The short answer though is that according to the latest Disk and FLARE OE Matrix the 300GB 15k FC4 drives are supported in the Cx300. So it will just operate at 2Gb but you get the benefit of a 15K large capacity drive.

The 300GB 15k drive is qualified on all the CX and CX3 family products ie: CX200, CX300, CX400, CX500, CX600 and CX700 systems running FLARE 14 and above, as well as all the CX3 models (CX3-10, CX3-20, CX3-40, CX3-80).

Glen.
