Yes you can. (it's a feature of the Flare, not an enabler)

CX4 models running FLARE release 28.5.support the Virtual Provisioning feature. CLARiiON Virtual
Provisioning Enabler must be purchased and installed on the storage system to create and manage thin
pools and thin LUNs.

So we can create thick LUNs with the pools if thin provisioning is not installed.

True that but it's not much of a help if you would like VP features, it requires an Enabler. (Page 2-3, same document Brett was kind enough to attach)

We can create Thin Lun, as rightly said, its feature of FLARE not of enabler!!

Hi All,
What are the differences between Cx 300 and Cx 500 Clariion boxes?
Also, What can we do if in case one of the Five vault drive fails, as hotspare cant replace the same.??

CX300 and CX500 are very old models of the CLARiiON line - they are discontinued now.
If one of the Vault drives fails you need to replace the drive with a compatible disk. This will then rebuild the OS part of the failed drive. The Hot Spare will only rebuild that part of the vault drive that is configured for user LUNs. The Vault drives have two areas - one for the OS and one for user LUNs.
