Free LUN Capacity
Hi, is there any option to retrieve free LUN capacity using NaviCLI/NaviSecCLI?
Thanks

There is no way that the CLARiiON will know how much of the space allocated to a LUN is used from the host. Consequently, CLI cannot report free/used LUN capacity. From a CLARiiON point of view, when you create 10 GB LUN, 10 GB is all used, no matter how much the host has used.

For a thin LUN, you can see both the provisioned capacity and the allocated capacity (amount of space consumed by the LUN in the storage pool) in unisphere/navisphere or in naviseccli. This will not exactly map to the used capacity on the host's filesystem because not all host filesystems notify the array when space is de-allocated, and the granularity of the space allocation is different between the host filesystem and the array.

but if it is a thin LUN, is there anyway to see how much the device is allocated, just like the one shown in the SMC for the tdevs in symmetrix vmax?
