How do I swap CX500 Vault drives for higher capacity drives?
Hello. I have a question very similar to EMC document emc186269 - "Can all the vault drives in a CLARiiON AX series or AX4 series storage system be swapped with different size drives?"
Is the procedure the same for a CX500? I want to upgrade from five 73GB FC drives to five 300GB FC drives. The CX500 is running FLARE 19. This is so we can prepare for upgrading to the latest FLARE. I do not have any user LUNs created on the Vault drives.
Can I just swap each drive one at a time?

The answer is yes - you can swap the vault drives for higher capacity, but it requires you to contact EMC service.
Please contact EMC service and reference that Primus number - emc63369 - this is a SUPPORT ONLY document.

Thank you both for the Primus number. Dell support was able to provide the details of this document. As I hoped, the procedure is virtually the same. The Vault drives have been swapped and we upgraded to FLARE 26.
