Identify LUN
have encounter one issue that we need to identify the lun mapped to which drive in windows 2003.
I have attached powerpath and t disk status from the host side.
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>powermt display dev=all
Pseudo name=harddisk1
CLARiiON ID=CKM000837005 [Server]
Logical device ID=60060160CCC9220066D55EC203E8DD11 [LUN 14]
state=alive; policy=CLAROpt; priority=0; queued-IOs=0
Owner: default=SP B, current=SP B Array failover mode: 1
==============================================================================
---------------- Host --------------- - Stor - -- I/O Path - -- Stats ---
### HW Path I/O Paths Interf. Mode State Q-IOs Errors
==============================================================================
2 port2\path0\tgt0\lun0 c2t0d0 SP A1 active alive 0 0
4 port4\path0\tgt0\lun0 c4t0d0 SP B2 active alive 0 0
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>powermt version
EMC powermt for PowerPath (c) Version 5.2 SP 1 (build 10)

The easiest way of identifying which drives are which LUNs in Windows as follows :-
1) Go to Disk Management and write down the Disk Numbers along with the Drive letters.
2) Launch Powerpath Monitor Console from the System Tray (The Inverted Triangle icon beside the time) and select LUNs. This will display all the Disk #s which we got above and if you scroll to the right you will be able to get the LUN # column which now tells you the associated LUN # for that Disk #s and in turn the Drive Letter.
Hope this answers the question.

Thank for teh reply.I am looking for the solution for the belwo issue. let me know if you need further details.
we have 4 drives in Windows server --- C,D,E,F ---
I need to find the which host drive , has maped to which LUN -- Unable to get the details thrugh Powermt display dev=all

In the lines
CLARiiON ID=CKM000837005
Logical device ID=60060160CCC9220066D55EC203E8DD11
it's mentioned: LUN 14 is the LUN you want. Now I don't know whether that's the HLU or the LUN.
The difference is that the HLU (Host LUN) is the LUN in the storage group. So look up the SG where your host resides and see if there's a HLU 14. Right click on the Clariion LUN which identifies this HLU 14 and compare the wwn of this LUN with the wwn in the PPAth output. If they don't match the LUN 14 which is mentioned is the actual Clariion LUN 14.
Am I making sence ?

In Windows it's very easy:
- open disk manager and look up what disk number your drive is
- double click on the PPath triangle right below in the taskbar. Open all the "+" you can see and look for a list with all disks in it. The mentioned disk numbers correspond with the disk manager disk numbers. All the way in the right in PPath you can now see the Clariion LUN number.
So if your host has 4 drives which in fact are all 4 Clariion LUNs you should be able to see these 4 LUNs mentioned in PPath.

Assuming the Navi agent is installed and configured properly, you should be able to see the drive letter in Navisphere as well.

Right click on "my computer", then "manage", then "disk management"

Now that you are able to map which lun is assigned which drive letter (don't forget to mark the question as "Answered" to help others searching for the same solution), maybe we should review how you have the FC HBA's/iSCSI initiators zoned/logged into the CLARiiON. Breaking down the output of "powermt display dev=all" that you originally posted:
2) You have multiple ports/HBAs. From the non-contiguous numbering of the ports, I'm guessing you have at least 2 HBA's/NIC's (iSCSI) and possibly dual-ported
However, from each individual port/HBA, in your current configuration there is only a single path as follows:
port 4 -> SPB2
Using your choice of SPA port 1 and SPB port 2 (just curious any reason you didn't use the first available F/E port A0, B0?) and adding to the output you posted, for full redundancy you should consider the following (in red are additional possible paths):
2 port2\path0\tgt0\lun0 c2t0d0 SP B1 active alive 0 0
4 port4\path0\tgt0\lun0 c4t0d0 SP A2 active alive 0 0
red):
B2 active alive 0 0
4 port4\path0\tgt0\lun0 c4t0d0 SP A2 active alive 0 0
4 port4\path0\tgt0\lun0 c4t0d0 SP B1 active alive 0 0
Of course whether you instead chose A1 and B1 for one HBA/iSCSI initiator and A2 and B2 for the other is no different technically from a host-to-storage perspective; however, when in a dual-switch environment and having what is typically the highest number port on each SP separated across each switch makes sure that MirrorView traffic is balanced across both switches. If you knew that you were never going to use MirrorView, then this doesn't necessarily matter.
How this differs from what you currently have is:
2) Assuming you have multiple switches, if either (or a single switch port) fails, via each switch there is still a path to both SPA and B so a LUN trespass is not necessary (unless you are using ALUA)

can we have another path using HBA1 and HBA 2 to CX4 storage (SP A2 ) to get all adavantegs that you mentioned? if yes can you please provde how i to do that?

btw ..it's a not a best practice to mix tape resources and disk on the same HBAs, if you can dedicate an HBA for tape connectivity that would be the best.

you need to zone HBA0 to SPBx (chose whatever SPB port you have on that fabric) and then zone HBA1 to SPAx (chose whatever SPA port you have on that fabric). So when you are done HBA0 should be zoned to SPAx and SPBx and same for HBA1. Once that is done you will need to to "reconnect" new paths to the server. See solution emc111684 for the procedure.

because backups typically generate tons of throughput, you don't want disk access to be fighting with backup load. If you have available Pci/PCI-X slots, sure why not, another option is to consider dual-port HBA. Yes, you want to use the same vendor ..i remember reading one of EMC support matrix documents and mixing HBA vendors in the same system was not supported ( although i am sure it will work just fine).
