Mixing different drive types in a CX4-480
In a CX4-480 can we mix drives types of the same form factor 3.5" in a single DAE3P?

You can definitely mix different size and speed disks in a single DAE, but I do not believe that you can mix FC and SATA disks in an enclosure on a CX.
So, for instance, you could have 100GB EFDs, 146GB 15k, and 300GB 10k disks in a single DAE, as long as all are 4Gb FC. But I do not believe you can mix a SATA II disk into that same DAE.

Check the latest Disk-Flare matrices on support.emc.com. check in the CX4 section - table 4 lists the compatibility for the different DAEs and what disk types are suppported.
The older ATA/SATA disks can only be in DAE without any other type. The new SATAII disks (ordering prefex CX-SA) can coexist with other disk types.
