Physically relocate SPE and DAEs on CX4 480?
Hello,
I have physically to relocate DAEs.
We have to move Clariions to other room.
This the plan:
1.Power off all host and fc switches.
2.Power off procedure on each clariion one by one.
3.Deattach all PDUs and power cable.
4.Move parts to new location.
5.Install SPE and all DAEs on new racks and set the same IDs and loops.
6.Power up procedure
The main question is- all raid group and luns will be on place after power up clariions?

as long as you cable everything identically, then yes

Hi Angel,
Yes, there should not be any impact with CLARiiON RAID groups and LUNs which are created there in the array, with the power-on procedures.

Thank you very much.
The main problem is that i have 2 clariion in 4 raks:
Clariion 1 with one rack for SPE and DAEs and one rack only with DAEs.
Clariion 2 with one rack for SPE and DAEs and one rack only with DAEs.
I will easily move the whole rack with SPE, but have to disconnect rack with DAEs, move both to other room and connect all again- every DAE on the same BUS and the same Encl ID.
May be other option is to remove all disk one by one, but i don't have empty DAEs

don't do that, keep it simple. Carefully label everything, preferably with different colors so you know what goes where. You should not be changing anything (no bus, no nothing ! Reconnect everything just like it was before the move.
