Replace DAE on Clariion CX4-240
I have a DAE on a Clariion CX4-240 that needs to be replaced. The enclosure was added to the CX4, created a fault condition and it has been determined that it will be replaced. There are currently no disks in the enclosure. What procedure should I use when the replacement DAE arrives?

It is the last DAE on the bus, Bus1-Enc7.
The DAE was added using USM successfully, but then a fault appeared in Navispher, and the disk LEDs went amber. The DAE and the disks were seen in Navisphere, but the disks showed 0GB. I removed the disks to see if they were the problem. The disks then showed as removed, but the fault remained. So in this case no RAID groups were created, and no LUNs were created in this DAE. The vendor is sending me another DAE and cables.
Array is a CX4-240
FLARE is 04.29.000.5.014
Thanks

If there are no disks in the DAE that is currently installed and in Navisphere (or Unisphere is using Flare release 30) you do not see any LUNs or other devices listed for that DAE, all you need is to remove the power from the DAE, then remove the cables. Is this DAE the last one on the bus?
When installing, just follow the USM steps.

If you go to emc.support.com and download the latest version of USM (Unisphere Service Manager), then using USM to log into your array, you can run the Hardware Wizard to install new Hardware. This will step you through the process

I am familiar with using USM to add a DAE. In this case I need to replace an existing DAE.

Then you should just need to remove the power on the old DAE, remove the cables, check to see if it was removed in Navisphere and if not, then restart the Management Server on both SPA and SPB in /setup and recheck in Navi to ensure that it's gone.

Glen,
How do I restart the Management Servers on the SPs?
Thanks for your help.
