Correct.

04.28.000.5.706

This is CX4, Flare 28, 000 means all CX4 arrays, 5 means customer released code, and 706 is minor path number (higher than the one you have now).

ETA is EMC Technical Advisory. If a major issue comes up, then EMC emails everyone about it with an ETA message.

SPs reboot one at a time. No downtime required, but low IO time is suggested.

I am not positive but maybe the NST makes sure you are at least within the latest 2 minor patches of that flare release.

I do suggest to upgrade and yes you can use the NST.

The latest CX4 code can be found on Powerlink following this path:

Home > Support > Software Downloads and Licensing > Downloads C > CLARiiON CX4

I suggest upgrading to the latest release as there is an ETA out against the code you are currently running (SP reboot issue with Analyzer - Primus emc215284)

Release 28 and later will only be for the CX4 series. Release 26 is for the CX3/5/7 and the CX3 series.

There is a lot of information available on PowerLink about the upgrade process - check in the following locations:

Home > Support > Technical Documentation and Advisories > Hardware/Platforms Documentation > CLARiiON CX3 UltraScale Series Systems

Home > Support > Technical Documentation and Advisories > Hardware/Platforms Documentation > CLARiiON CX4 UltraScale Series Systems

The latest and greatest is now Flare 29: 04.29.000.5.001. In the Flare 28 range this is 04.28.000.5.706.

note that the new flare begins with "04" this means this version is only for the CX4.

Hi all,

Can I ask yous a question about upgrading Flare28 to 29?
First, the customer considered to upgrade their CX4s from Release 28 p504 to p706, as ETAs existed discussed before.

However, the customer highly utilizes their environment with VMWare, so now they are intersted in the new features of R29 and plan to upgrade from R28 to 29.

MY QUESTION IS: CAN 'NDU' BE PERFORMED FOR INTER-RELEASE(from 28 to 29) UPGRADE EVEN THE RELEASE NUMBER WILL BE CHANGED??

thanks,
Tono

The answer is yes - upgrading flare from one release to the next higher release is supported - see the conversion documents.

For internal EMC questions you should use the EMC internal web sites. This forum is a customer forum and while this question is general in nature, you should always use the internal forums for EMC questions.
