yikes!!!! Poor Performance on CX500 + VMWare ESX4

Hi All,

Uh-oh...kinda worried here... Going live on Monday with first VM. ESX4 host set up, no probs...followed all guides...vm os installed no probs...ran file copy tests...seemed good.

I went to add a new virtual disk and format it. Performance is on par with cruddiest workstation collecting dust in corner. I checked thru Analyzer and this lun is capping out at 60 MB/s--similar results in ESX summary.

Here is info

ESX4 on DL380, Qlogic QLA24xx . CX500, flare19. Raid group is 6x300gb 10k disks. I have read/write cache on for lun and array, 60/80 watermarks...

not sure what else to add for info, but i have a sick feeling in my stomach about now....

Any help is greatly appreciated

Forgot to add, the VM is running windows 2008 x64, 8gb ram

One possible angle: "You see reduced storage device performance in ESX Server 3.5 compared to ESX Server 3.0.x. "
