Re: NS480 - Monitoring temperature and automatic shutdown at high temperature event?

How do I check the temperature and voltage on the Celerra?
How to run the t2adc command to check the temperature and voltage on the Celerra.
"BoxMonitor:2:10 Slot 6, Over temperature warning" found in the sys_log
Slot x, xV DC supply low / high in the sys_log.

Error msg: 12v DC Supply Low

Error msg: Segmentation fault (core dumped) when  t2adc is run.

BoxMonitor:2:19 Slot 3, -12V DC Supply low
All NAS Codes
Product: Celerra  Network Server (CNS-14)

Product: Celerra File Server (CFS-14)
  • Temperature has exceeded threshold on the Data Movers or Control Station.
  • Voltage has exceeded threshold on the Data Movers or Control Station.
Check /nas/log/sys_log and /nas/log/osmlog and the particular server_log for any reference to hardware indications or sibpost errors. The sibpost error code for -12 VDC powr supply is 0x00000047.

Also run the /nas/sbin/t2adc command to see a list of the voltages for the specified Data Mover. You can execute the /nas/sbin/t2adc command without shutting down the BoxMonitor application in certain code revisons. If you cannot execute the t2adc command, then get confirmation or permission prior to shutting down BoxMonitor.

Example:

[nasadmin@cel4cs0 nasadmin]$ server_version server_2;/nas/sbin/t2adc
server_2 :Product: EMC Celerra File Server  Version: T5.1.20.401
Box     5V    12V   3.3V    -5V   -12V   5V Trim   12V Trim   Temp
0   5.02  11.98   0.00  -0.01 -11.95      4.50      10.80  30.91
2   5.06  11.94   3.35  -0.01 - 0.02      4.50      10.80  35.08
3   5.07  12.00   3.34  -0.01 - 0.01      4.50      10.80  35.20
4   5.00  12.18   0.00  -0.00 -11.91      4.50      10.80  29.20
5   5.02  12.00   0.00  -0.00 -11.85      4.50      10.80  28.15

If you have to halt Boxmonitor, as root run

/etc/rc.d/rc3.d/S95nas stop

Then run the t2adc command.
