Rainfinity FMA upgrade

I am getting ready to upgrade my rainfinity device to 7.2.5sp2 from 7.2.x. What are the gotcha's between performing the full cd upgrade as opposed to doing just the upgrade? I realize that the full upgrade takes longer to run, but is there any real benefit to do it? or, since I am having issues with the current version of FMA we are running, would the full cd upgrade be a better choice as it would be more of a clean version? Looking at the docs, I think I can do it either way, but I am hoping that someone has done this before and has an opinion. Thanks in advance.

please talk to support - currently FMA isnt customer upgradeable

from what I heard:
As far as whether to use an RPM upgrade or boot from CD upgrade, boot from CD should always be used when possible. Booting from CD ensures that processes are not running that could potentially interfere with the upgrade. For example, Filemanagement is stopped as part of the upgrade process. Booting from CD will prevent Filemanagement from starting in the first place.
