Deleting Test Data and a Test Pool

I created a test pool and dumped some data into it. Now I am looking for a way to age and/or delete the data and to see if it now possible to remove my test pool. I see that previous releases would not allow it. I am running 4.0 of CenteraStar.

That's correct. Even on 4.0, once you create a pool and write data to it, even if you delete the date the pool will still have the reflections resident and therefore you cannot delete the pool.

So, what is the correct and full process for deleting the data, pool, and reflections?
Is there some aging process we need to wait for to happen? Can I manually expire the data somehow? There's got to be some way to delete the data and get rid of a pool, right?

Once a pool is written to, it can never be deleted

I recommend that you also read the Whitepaper on virtual pools available on powerlink.emc.com for some information.

Diskman,

Pools can be created and removed by
an administrator according to certain rules:
◆ The pool does not contain any C-Clips or reflections.
◆ The pool is not the home pool of any profile.
◆ No mappings are defined from a profile to a pool.
◆ All nodes are online.
◆ The pool is not being replicated or restored.

Reflection expiration is something that can be done by EMC Support.
