Multi subnet virtual IP on FS8600 NAS

Hi All,

Here is the case: Our customer is running FS8600 NAS with Virtual IP 192.168.0.1 to serve for cliens on subnet 192.168.0.0/24. Now they wants to add another subnet 192.168.1.0/24. Please advise if we can add the 192.168.1.1 as a client VIP to serve for 192.168.1.0/24 subnet.

FluidFS v3.

Thank you,

FluidFS supports multiple IP segments through the use of VLANs. You would need to configure your switches to trunk multiple VLANs into the client ports and then you can apply the different IP subnet addresses for that. There should be multiple IP addresses per VLAN to support client operations. ALL client ports must be configured the same.

Hello anhnh77.

Michael pretty much nailed it down. (Thanks, Michael)  A colleague and I set it up in a virtual environment without issue. No work-arounds, special tricks or the like, just pretty straight forward.

--> Select FluidFS Cluster > System Tab > Network > Create Client Network

Then add your next IP.

Let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you Michael and Daniel.

So when adding a new subnet IP address, should we add both "Virtual IPv4 Addresses" and "IP address for each NAS controller"?
