Connect Brocade 825 HBA to CX300
Hello,
We have bought one new Brocade HBA 825M and we are trying to connect it to a EMC CX300 Array directly with no success. The host is a DELL Windows 2003 x64 Enterprise. The main problem is that we cannot see the initiator in the NAvisphere Conectivity Status and if we try to create the link manually there is no connection between the HBA and the array.
However in the Brocade HCM utility we can see the link up in the fibre connection so it does not seem to be a physical problem.
We have installed the following software in the host:
Powerpath 5.5
Navisphere Agent 6.26
Where can be the problem? Am we missing some step?

Hello
Take a look at Support Matrix (E-Lab Navigator). Brocade HBA 825 doesn't support point to point connection. It support only connection to FC switch.
I had same problem with Brocade HBA 825. You need Emulex or Qlogic HBA to have direct connection to clariion box.

Hello again,
i have talked with dell and we can choose between the folloging HBAs:
EMULEX LPE11002-E
QLOGIC QLE2462
¿Have you tried any of them? ¿Are they compatible with CX300 direct connection, Powerpath and Navisphere Agent?

Hello
Both HBA support direct connection to CX300.
There is no interoperability issue between HBA and Host Agent
To check what PowerPath version is supported I need to know which OS do you use.
