Converting Brocade to Access Gateway using NPIV
Hi
I have a Brocade switch (Blade switch Brocade IBM 5470) and I need to connect it to a ED-140M.
At this moment it's like this:
san_switch62:admin> switchshow
switchName: san_switch62
switchType: 73.6
switchState: Online
switchMode: Native
switchRole: Subordinate
switchDomain: 62
switchId: fffc3e
switchWwn: 10:00:00:05:1e:dc:48:4a
zoning: ON (B_CONFIG_20111022)
switchBeacon: OFF

I have 6 ports that are in NPIV mode.
When I convert it to access gateway mode, how can i make it to use npiv on the ports?
Last weekend i converted some blade switches from native to ag. But once this was done, the servers that were NPIV couldn't log into the fabric anymore. Only the ones that were not npiv could join the fabric.
Is there any special config?

Hi,
if you convert the blade switch to AG mode, it itself becomes a NPIV device and won't allow other NPIV devs to log in; that is the reason why you weren't able to connect NPIV devs to the blade switch.
