Trying to set console baud rate but getting error

Hello - I'm trying to do the following:
Rich9509# config t
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
Rich9509(config)# line console
Rich9509(config-console)# speed 38400
Error: console configuration can only be done on console
Rich9509(config-console)#

Any suggestions? Powerlink is high and dry.

CSCsj94366¿While attempting to modify the console settings using the CLI on the ACE running software version 3.0(0)A1(4a), the following error message appears: console configuration can only be done on console. Workaround: None.

Hello,

I believe this message is telling you have to be connected to the console port in order to make the configuration changes you are trying. This would be a security feature to ensure a remote user doesn't disable the console port and lock out the local administrator.

Please try it via the console port and see if the command works there.

Thank you.

Hello,

How are you connected to the switch when you trying to change it? What SAN-OS version are you running? Is there a reason why you are trying to set the speed manually?

Thank you.

Connected via telnet. I'm trying to change the baud rate to enable the syslog to capture more messages.

syslogd: baud rate of console should be 38400 to increase logging level.

The above error message is received when I tried to increase logging.

Sorry - forgot the OS portion:
Software
BIOS: version 1.1.0
loader: version 1.2(2)
kickstart: version 3.0(2a)
system: version 3.0(2a)

I would also recommend upgrading above 3.0(2a) due to various issues. 3.0(2a) is also End of Life with EMC support.

Thank you.

So what SAN-OS would you recommend ? 3.2 (2c) ?
