All I want is a return label! And my laptop. Please.

I ordered the Inspiron 15R SE (like so many other people.)

I accidentally ordered the Core i5 instead of the i7 but I wanted the i7 to do some light gaming. The next day I chatted with a CSR who said once the order was in production it can't be canceled. The rep said I would have to take delivery of the i5 system and process a return - and then go ahead and order the i7 system.

That is exactly what I did. I ordered the i7 and submitted a request to return the i5 - explaining to them that I ordered the Core i7 CPU base system and would return the i5 totally unopened.

2 days later, the i7 system (which was in production) was canceled to my amazement considering the CS rep had told me earlier it was impossible to cancel an order once it was in production! Well,..apparently not only is it possible,it can be done with no warning.

I had to call CS again and have them place the exact same order. The only information CS could give me was that "it was canceled." Duh. After the re-order I have a 15R SE delivery date with a quad core i7 CPU for 8/14. But reading other horror stories on here about "smart ship" systems not showing up, I doubt that is a real delivery date. 

I FINALLY heard from the returns team this morning. They offered me a discount to keep the i5 system (obviously they didn't read the portion of my request about ordering the i7 system.) I emailed back 'no thanks. Already ordered the i7 system.' They email back asking if they've already emailed me a shipping label? I have emailed back twice now saying no, but no one has returned my email to give me a shipping label. I don't have a return authorization number. Heck can't even find the address to send the thing to on the website or I would just send it myself and spend the $10 to get it off my plate.

Please. Straighten this out. Offer me a credit to cover the shipping costs of the systems - some gesture to make me not want to gouge my own eyes out for not learning my lesson the last time and actually buying from you people again!!!

The RMA label could be put in the new system they are sending you.

Holy WOW! I actually got a return label and was able to return the system I didn't want while I wait for the system I do want (I did pay for it, I just hope it isn't mistakenly canceled again.) Looks like its going to go over the "Delivery Date." But at least this is some kind of progress.
