On the phone for literally HOURS because customer care keeps hanging up on me
I got a $3500 laptop as a gift and the basic warranty is not showing up, and one rep tells me I can get the warranty info updated without a receipt, the other tells me I need to hound my friend to find his receipt. This is unbelievably ridiculous. I have literally called the 800 number 7 (SEVEN) times and each time, I talk to someone, they put me on hold to investigate, then 20 minutes later the call hangs up.

This XPS 17 9700 was supposed to be returned to Dell by the original purchaser when we gave them a system exchange. It was never returned to Dell. Please follow through with DELL-Cares via private messaging.
