Order Delay, Alienware 17, stays in production
I had ordered an alienware 17 laptop with customized settings on sept 25th. The estimated shipping was on 16th october and delivery on 18th but 16th is almost over and the product is still in production stage.

Pretty typical of Dell it seems. My X51 was in production for about a week past the estimated delivery date.

I don't know the exact details of why it's staying in production as long as it has, but most likely it could be because of a part that is on back order.
If there is no change in the status within the next few days, post back in this thread and I will look deeper into what's going on.

Same thing for me. Although it's the 22nd for me now, and it's still in production stage with no word from Dell so far.
