*RESOLVED* XPS 10 - Ordered: 10/23/2012, Estimate Delivery Date: 12/11/2012, Delayed until 01/02/2012

Need an explanation as to how it is I placed an order for a Dell XPS 10 on 10/23/2012 with an EDD of 12/11/2012, but the morning before it was expected to deliver I get an email saying it's now delayed until 01/02/2012.  This was supposed to be a Christmas gift... This should have NEVER been sold if Dell had no intention on meeting the estimated delivery dates provided.

Just received an update.  I'm assuming due to the number of inquiries.  "we now anticipate that we can deliver the system to you on or before December 24th, 2012."

Good Luck!  I get a different answer every time I call.   I got the cover last week but I would not hold my breath on getting the actual system.  My order status shows 01/02/01 delivery date.

I ordered one on 11/27/2012. Edd was 12/20/2012. Now it's 1/11/2013. Guess they are having supply issues. Christmas gift will be late now.

Dell should have never taken these orders and posted a ship date before Christmas.  This is the only reason I ordered this system over the Surface.

There are going to be some dissapointed customers this Christmas.   I'll have to scrabble for another tablet and probably send this one back if it every actually ships.  Good job Dell, good job.

When I order 2 of them the estimated delivery date in the site was 12/28. Was hoping they would come a few days early for Xmas break for our staff. Now it says 1/8. It's upsetting but what's worse is they are showing up on eBay and Craigslist for sale today. You think of you preordered you would get them before you saw them for sale elsewhere.

Just received an email from Customer Care, it shipped last night and is delivering today before 3pm... Looks like Dell is making good on their promise.  Overnight shipping for free... can't beat that.

Be sure to call customer care and upgrade your shipping.  My dad didn't do so, his shipped with 5-7 day delivery.  Also, call fedex and give them your address.  Tell them that you do not have your tracking number, but want to check if any packages are scheduled for delivery today or tomorrow.

Very nice, glad to see you are getting yours. I did receive an email letting me know " we now anticipate that we can deliver the system to you on or before December 24, 2012"  I find that increasingly unlikely at this point.  Hoping based on your experience it won't actually be 1/11/2013 though.

Looks like you're one of the lucky ones.  I still have no update and an EDD of 01/03/13.  

I just have to wait and see what happens.  Dell did send the cover  for it that I ordered as a slap in the face.

I can give that gift as a joke I guess.

I get the same BS every time.  Their first answer is 01/03/13.  When I complain then I get "We now anticipate that we can deliver the system to you on or before December 24th, 2012".   This is the same protocol every time I ask.   They are probably just told to lie and make the customer happy.    This past year I have not had good expierience with Dell.  I bought a laptop during the summer and it was doa.  They wanted to come out and repair it.  My reaction was "hell no".  I'll send this back and you'll send me another one.  After arguing for awhile I finally was able to receive a new one.    Anyway,  this is the last Dell system for me.  Looks like Dell no longer has thier stuff together.

I ordered and paid for 2 xps10 tablets with a ETA on or before 17/12/2012.  These tablets were advertised for pre Christmas delivery.  I ordered them for Christmas gifts and they are still showing a delivery date of 17/12/2012

Dell should never have accepted and taken payment for these orders knowing that they could not deliver in time for Christmas.  I was shocked by the level of Customer service provided by Dell,   If I had not phoned Dell to see why the order was still displaying pre-production I would still be expecting delivery before Christmas.  I was told yesterday 19/12/2012 that the xps10 is not shipping anywhere in the world until January.  Do Dell expect me to give my daughter a photo of the tablet on Christmas morning.

Talked to a friend in PG, looks like it was just a supply chain issue.  Out of Dell's hands.  It would be like getting mad at Gamestop because you pre-ordered a game and it gets delayed by the developer.

**UPDATE** my XPS 10 was just delivered... logged into my father's dell account, looks like he placed his order on 10/25 and his shipping was automatically upgrade to "overnight" and shipped this morning... it will be delivered tomorrow.  Wish I could thank whoever made this possible and I hope any of you who received the "on or before December 24th" email get tracking numbers soon!
