Replacement Machine Warranty

Why can't Dell allow the purchase of a warranty of a replacement machine beyond the original 3 years?  Seems to me that Dell should stand behind the machines they replace.  What am I missing?

Hi Simms Enterprises,

Thank you for posting in our Community and Welcome!

As per Dell Limited Hardware Warranty states ( http://dell.to/10oJLsK ) : we offer units with maximum of 5 year-warranties. If your original unit  was sold sometime 2008 then the replacement unit is on it's 5th year and may not be extended. You may provide me with your current service tag and name on the account via private message (click my username and then click Start Conversation) and i'll be glad to look into the details for you.
