Connect to DRAC on PE R710
I just set up w2k8 ENT R2 on a new PE r710
It seems I can only connect to the DRAC by IP..
I'm really hoping this is a known issue as I'm not too well up on most of this yet.
Any documentation links are welcome.

How do you want to connect to the DRAC? It's a webpage interface.
For more answers, post in a more correct section (e.g. PowerEdge General HW) instead of Dell|EMC SAN storage.

That is correct, Yes.
It's an iDRAC 6 I connect via IP but not through computer name..

Thanks fo the speedy reply.
This is the first time using this version.. the others didn't seem to have an issue pulling the host name.
The IP is set via DHCP and in an emergency I may need to use name not IP.. I guess I need to find some docs on setting it up.
Unless there is anything you can link to as a suggestion.

That is correct; the DRAC doesn't pull up via the computer (DNS) name.
You may want to read the DRAC manual to gain an understanding of what it is and what it offers.
