Website Downloads

Dear Dell

What on earth are you doing with your website. I simply want to download the ISO for an MD3200i, I don't want to install "Dell System Detect", and I don't want to install your <ADMIN NOTE: Profanity removed as per TOU>download manager. I'm sure these tools are fantastic for someone buying a cheap inspiron from PC world, but not really suited to us IT professionals working overnight to administer systems, and not wanting spending all night battling with your bloatware.

Can you please provide me with a plain and simple http link!!

TIA!!!

Thanks Sam.... That works!!

Perhaps you can have a word with the powers that be, navigating the Dell site (Support>For Work>Select Product etc), takes you here:

www.dell.com/.../DriversDetails

This then gives you the options "Use Download Manager" or "Download and Create ISO".

Both options, do the same thing, and the description makes little sense.

Firstly overloads the browser with the T&C's (Which given the product, I'm not going to decline and not be able to use it).

Then insists on installing "Dell System Detect" Then attempts to use download manager, embedded in the page that makes the browser virtually unusable.

Granted in my situation, I'm accessing the page via an RDS host in a datacentre, that has security software on it, as its in the DC I require the software. Your half done new download thing may have a conflict with the security software.

However, downloading these critical components, really need not be that complex. Please ask your developers, to make sure they include a simple http link, for those of us that may be working in a none consumer situation.

Regards

Paul
