DD9500 - 5.7 - Maximum clients configured. Allowed: 64

Folks,

We hit the max clients for our ifgrps. Please let me know what options I have,

ifgrp1 (eth1a,4a,5a) - 40 clients

ifgrp2 (eth1b,4b)     - 14 clients

ifgrp3 (eth1d,eth4d) - 10 clients replication

All clients belong to 10.2.3.x/22 subnet. These are NWR hosts. They have interfaces configured from ifgrp1 and ifgrp2.

We're unable to add a subnet to bring down the entries as the DD doesn't seem to support anything except a /24  mask. All our hosts are /22 or /23.

I cannot use a wild card e.g *.domain.com as well because we have two interface groups and just one domain name.  So I don't think adding a wildcard in one ifgrp would solve the issue.

Please advise from your experience.

thanks,

Naruto

Hello Naruto,

The max client is increased to 4000 from DDOS 5.5.2.0  as explained in the KB:

468006 : Unable to add more than 64 DDBoost clients to an ifgroup https://support.emc.com/kb/468006

Which DDOS are you using here exactly?

Hi,

You can define a /23 subnet as two /24 subnets.
