DD9500 Upgrade DDOS from 5.7 to 6.0

Hi I am planning to upgrade our DD9500 from 5.7.5.0-569395 to 6.0.2.50-627611

Our system has 18 ES30 Enclosure 2.73 TB

It also replicates to a DD890 in another Data Center bi-directional mtree replication. This DD890 is running 5.7.4.0-552828. I don't intend to upgrade the DD890 (at least not yet)

I have the RPM ready I want to ask if anyone had any advice or tips for upgrading as I will be doing this myself.

From the user guides it sounds like I should be able to upgrade the DD9500 and continue bi-directional replication with the DD890 on 5.7.

I was also curious if there is anything I need to do with the feature licenses do you think they will carry over during the upgrade?

Can I do this upgraded via system manager webgui or will I need to upload it to the system and upgrade via CLI?

What is the best way to store the file, 6.0.2.50-627611.rpm, in the /ddvar/releases?

Any other tips advice thigns to avoid etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!!

Just be patient while upgrade process, it will take time based on the data size. Data domain will auto rollback to older version if any issue occur during upgrade.

Before performing upgrade, reboot the DD once.

Nothing to worry about license, those will carry over. GUI is good for upgrade.

Hi the upgrade ran smoothly.

1) Rebooted

2) Manually went through the long pre-upgrade checklist using the user guide to make sure everything was ok, no log kern.info errors etc.

3) ran pre-upgrade check from system manager and then ran the upgrade.

The only thing that was funky was that I had to reboot twice because we had executed the 'pre-upgrade check' from system manager before the first reboot and it booted up with a false positive error about a non-existent failed upgrade.

TIP: Do not run the pre-upgrade check system manager BEFORE the reboot.

@mlitano-med.miami.edu do you have a link to download DD OS 6.0?

I'm trying to upgrade my DD2500 from DDOS 5.7.5 to 6.2, but from what I´ve researcher, firstly I need to upgrade to 6.0, then to 6.2. The 6.0 version I didn't find to download.
