Data Domain DD670 is unable to boot, boot device not found!
We have shifted Data Domain DD670 (which in not in support) to another rack. When we turned it on it says boot media device is not found. any solution?

did someone put a USB stick in it? sometime's people put in sticks and forget to remove them. the array will try to boot from it.
Re-seat drives - maybe in the move you jolted something loose?
Open a ticket with EMC - sometimes the support end dates get missed and they help anyway...Open as a sev 1 on the phone.

The original poster indicated they have no support contract for the DD array. If this doesn't work, you can open a time-and-materials call with EMC and they will invoice for support costs.

Did you ever figure out what the issue was?
So it's very hard to replicate this issue. I even pulled drives out and it would still boot since there are multiple copies of the boot partition.
Another theory is you have some internal failure. I know the dd670 has an internal sas controller that can die.

Did you ever figure this out we are have exact same issue on our DD670 . Cant find boot drive
