Fiber card (C-8GFC-M2PN) for DD2500

Hello,

Does anyone know what type of SFP comes with a C-8GFC-M2PN fiber card. Or, at least what the recommended cable length would be? The hardware spec sheet doesn't show this info.

Thanks.

The card is based off of the Qlogic 2500 series HBA. Qlogic does not list a spec for OM4 cable. Therefore, EMC/Data Domain has not tested this card with OM4 cable and does not officially support it.

It will probably work fine and Support would assist on a best effort basis if there is a problem.

Supported distances are found here: http://https://support.emc.com/docu51561_Backup_Compatibility_Guide,_Data_Domain_Operating_System_5.3_and_5.4.pdf?language=en_US

The SFP's that come with the 8Gb FC card on the DD2500 are 8Gb SFP+ SR modules with LC connections which support multi mode optics.

Cable length cannot exceed 500 meters depending on Data Rate and Cable type. At 8Gbps with OM1 cable, maximum distance is 21m, OM2 Cable is 50m and OM3 cable is 150m.

150m will just make it. I can use OM4 and push to 520m to be safe?
