cannot upgrade emc dd 3300

Hi guys

I have a DD3300 in front of me with version 7.1.0.5-643969 running. Now I have checked dell support for new updates and it lists me:

Data Domain Operating System 7.3.0.5
Full Release 20 Aug 2020

Data Domain Operating System 7.2.0.30
Full Release 19 Aug 2020

I tried to install them but whenever I try to upload the files via maintenance/system -> upload upgrade package it tells me "the file upload failed - please view your log files for more information"

When I check the logs there is no issue i am able to see:

messages.log

autosupport: command "system upgrade status"

autosupport: command "system upgrade status" exited with code: 624

autosupport: command "system upgrade history"

Can anyone tell me if I am doing something wrong or are these builds not capable for EMC DD3300?

Thanks

The 7.1.x update document says that upload within the Webgui isnt possible because the system can be run out of space (the rpm is staged first ) and possible timeout problems.

You have to upload the *.rpm through scp or (s)ftp.  Not sure if its the same for 7.2/7.3.

Iam not able to upload anything with pscp or winscp or Windows FTP explorer.  With FTP i can see all directory within / but unable to get access to  the upload folder and scp always returns a End of File header error.

Hi,

it's common problem. Try windows command line ftp. In my example firmware file was stored in c:\users\user123

C:\Users\user123>ftp
ftp> open
To 192.168.1.1
Connected to 192.168.1.1.
220 (vsFTPd 3.0.2)
200 Always in UTF8 mode.
User (192.168.1.1:(none)): sysadmin
331 Please specify the password.
Password:
230 Login successful.
ftp> cd /releases
250 Directory successfully changed.
ftp> put 7.3.0.5-663138.rpm
200 PORT command successful. Consider using PASV.
150 Ok to send data.
226 Transfer complete.
ftp>

Then you should be able to continue from Web GUI.
