normally i order Dell notebooks with a 256GB SSD SED, and i had no issues with the two tools mentioned above so far.
This is the second case where i have a Dell with a 512GB drive, where the drive cannot be recognized by the DDPA and Security Tools. Both tools reports, that no SED drive can be detected (both tested with the latest versions). The last time i opened a ticket for this issue, Dell sent me three SED drives of the exact same model, where i told them that this drive is not working with the two tools. The final solution from Dell was a complete hardware replacement (a new notebook).
I have already raised a ticket for this, the support told me, that maybe you guys can help me here.

I am showing that your device does have a supported SED, a PM861. The Dell 5580 sadly is not supported with Dell Data Protection | Security Tools, nor Dell Data Protection | Access. Both of these products are End of Life.
The current solution would be Dell Encryption Personal, which the Dell QA teams have validated works properly with the 5580 and the PM961 SED that you have currently.
