Discover an MD3420?
Hi!
What do i need to do to add an md3420 storage box?
It has dual controllers.
Right now i monitor its health via nagios/SMCli, and i see that SMCli contacts one of the boxes IPs (tcp, port 2463).
So that seems to work:)
And i have MDSM installed on a windows server to manage the box (but i can not find anything at all about snmp there).
So what (and where) do i need to do to discover it?

No you have only to configure SNMP traps and OME will discover it

You can it with SMNP traps and a discovery but you cannot manage configuration or other

Yes, just seeing it (and its warranty and healt) will be fine enough.
But to be able to add it, i must make the MDSM expose snmp-info i guess? How do i do that?
I can only see how to configure snmp traps (not how to enable snmp GETs)

"Will discover it"? Automatically?
I mean, surely i must run some discovery job in OME to "add" it, so that it fetches the info that it needs about the device.

Just enabling snmp traps in mdsm doesnt make it appear in OME. Not here at least:)

No, that video only shows an example with an iDRAC.
I am talking about a MD storage box here, not an iDRAC:)
And enabling snmp alerts (traps) doesnt make it appear in OME either.

Hello,
this video is not only for iDRAC. Yes the example is iDRAC but it show you how to discover devices.
Of cours you need to select Dell storage.
We don't have other material or article to suggest you. If you need more support you can buy an installation ticket from our sales team.

Yes the video shows this. But on the box side you have to configure SNMP (communities, alerts, and traps). Then on the OpenManage Enterprise you have to create a discovery job using Storage device profile.
