Easy way to change iDrac password on 100+ servers?

Hi, we have recently installed Open Manage Enterprise 3.0 and is adding our servers to the inventory.

But it seems we have some compatibility issues, because we have lots of dell servers, with different passwords, also on multiple IP-ranges.

I would like to change the password of all the iDracs so they have the same passord, it would make the job much easier.

I've heard you can use scripts through OME to do this, but as i have searched, it has led me to nothing.

Any tips for a way to do this?

Hello

The option to run scripts is under Application Settings. I don't see a method to push to several systems using that method, but you can check to see if that is possible.

If you go to Devices, choose More Actions drop-down, and then RACADM CLI it will open an applet that should allow you to push out a RACADM command to groups. You should be able to change the password via RACADM. You can find more information about RACADM commands on the iDRAC support page. OpenManage Enterprise documentation can be found on the OMEn support page.

Hi

Just to tail on this question, I tried creating a new users and using a SHA encrypted password, the issue  I found is that after setting the password, it does not recognize the password when you try to login, we can't send passwords via clear text so we try and encrypt it where possible.

only fix I found was to login with a different user then set the password manually in clear text then it works, which is kinda working backwards
