How to discover Dell N1500 Series

Hello,

we use OpenManage Essentials v 2.1 to monitor our servers and switches.

Now we a N1548 switch but in OME it is not getting classified as a switch.

In the webinterface of the switch I configured SNMP which is correctly set in OME.

Can you help me to classify thw switch in OME?

Thank you.

Thanks for your reply.

I updated OME to version 2.2 but you are right, the N1500 series seems to bet not supported by OME 2.2.

Is there a plan for the future to implement the support?

I don't know if we will support those in the future.

Just curious, what do you see in Troubleshooting tool SNMP test against this switch?

Well, the troubleshooting tool returns an error message:

The SNMP read request has failed for Get Community name - public

I tried to configure the switch for snmp but maybe there is a failure in it.
Does a tutorial exist how the switch has to be configured for snmp?

I only know the option for the communityname and the destiny for the traps.
But the switch has so many configurations options...

Please refer "Configuring SNMP (Web)" (page 437) topic in the user guide below to enable your switch for manageability:

Please note: OME does not support SNMP v3 protocol. Do configure SNMP v2 and let us know of the results.
