OME 2.x on win 10
Hi, pardon the newbie question.
I'd like to get started using OME and to use the 'agentless' one-to-many idea for some Dell 12th gen host servers running hyper-v/2012 and vm's. However, reading the docs I could find where it can be installed on win 10 or 8.1, i.e., workstations. The only OS's we have that fit the bill are running on the VM's. And the ones I most want to monitor remotely are the non-gui host partitions. So far my attempts to install on win 10 have failed the pre-requisites. Am I missing a key point or should I assume I need a server OS for the management station?
Thanks for any imparted knowledge!
Chris

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the query.
OpenManage Essentials installation is not supported on client operating systems. It is supported on server operating systems only.
Supported operating systems for management stations:
Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard and Datacenter Editions
Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Standard and Datacenter Editions
Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Standard and Enterprise Editions
Windows Server 2008 SP2 (x64) Standard and Enterprise Editions
Please note:
OpenManage Essentials version is supported only on 64-bit operating systems.
The Wow64 component is required to run on a 64-bit operating system.
OpenManage Essentials is also supported on virtual machines.
I hope this helps!
