Just finished trialing OME 1.2 and it definitely has some features I think we can use over and above our existing monitoring software. What I am trying to work out is the installation and configuration of OME. We have about 40-odd clients that I need to roll this out for potentially (read: 40 separate networks.) I don't really want to install and configure it manually each time.
Has anyone done a scripted install/configuration of OME or is there are good way to manage this number of installations?
Most sites we have a utility server in the form of a R320 or NX3200 running Server 2008 R2 or 2012 and it is envisioned we will run OME from here.
I've been trying to research this a bit. I don't have anything today for you. We are looking at putting together a whitepaper during our next release timeframe, but that won't be for some time yet.
Perhaps if you use: msiexec /i Essentials.msi
you can install via a script. This would assume:
1. You are ok with SQL db being installed on the local box with OME (which is default)
2. You already have _all_ OME pre-reqs installed on the target box.
