OME is not detecting our new servers

Hi,

we've used OME for years and have it setup to scan via Server with OMSA installed and a specific SNMP string.  We recently got some new R640s and have configure them exactly the same way as all our other servers.  However, OME is not finding these servers when it does the Discovery scans.

OME is version 2.4.  OMSA is currently version 8.4  I'm going to try installing 9.1 on one of the servers to see if anything changes.

Does anyone know why these aren't getting picked up?

Well, even though these machines have been rebooted, I manually restarted the SNMP service and then kicked off a manual scan and now it seems to be finding them.  *sigh*

Ah well.

same for me. i can't figure out what is my problem. Nothing changed. All Servers are installed in the same way via SCCM.

We're using wmi to collect all the informations.

OMSA 9.0.1, 9.1.0 and 9.1.0.1 make this Problems. But not all of them. 40 Servers with this Version, and just the new(12) are not inventorized in the proper way. All Servers are W2016

OME is 2.4

10 R740 and 2 R740XD have this issue. Other R740(XD) with 9,xx OMSA are ok.

I installed OMSA 9.1.0(.1) on two R720 Servers and both are now not inventoried. With 8.4 they were ok.

Can someone from Dell pls give a Feedback to this.

In OMSA 9.1 the DSM Shared Service, which is used to invoke the Inventory Collector, is for some unknown reason disabled by default.

You can enable it by running this command line:

omconfig system invcol action=enable

(Thanks to anonymous456 at the end of this thread: OME 2.4 no longer discovers any system updates, after installing OMSA and enabling SNMP)
