Task Execution History

When a task fails is there a way to know for which server the task was meant for?

Hi, thanks for the query.

Right click the task history and select details. Can be achieved by double clicking also. Top grid will list the devices with target specific execution details in bottom window.

don't see the server the task is supposed to update.

I see "system".

if the task succeeds it will tell me the device name

If it fails the history doesn't' tell me what device it failed for.

And if the task is pending it doesn't tell me what server the task is for.

Thanks for providing more information.

Package download is a system task. Once that succeeds, apply tasks are initiated on targets.

Here are different cases for system update:

1. If the download fails due to some reason, you won't see targets in the details as those were not created at all because of download failure.

2. If download is successful, details for each target will be available with respective success or failure.

3. If download is successful, target details will not be available until triggered on schedule (in case of pending tasks).

It would be helpful to know the target for all the cases. It would be easier to track scheduling a bunch of jobs on different servers.
